The 2006s were bottled in early April, 2008, just a week before I tasted them. The 2006 Malbec Vina Venturin is purple/black-colored with an expressive nose of toasty oak, lavender, mineral, blueberry, and black cherry. More forward than the other 2006 Malbecs, it also exhibits greater complexity, sweeter fruit, awesome depth, and a 60-second finish. Received a 95 from Parker.

This vintage suggests that the Russian River Valley can produce Pinot Grigio every bit as glorious as its famous Pinot Noirs. The fruit comes from two vineyards in the Russian River Valley. The grapes were hand harvested and delivered to the winery in half-ton picking bins in the cooler mornings in order to maximize the grapes' integrity.

Offers both style and structure, with lively aromas of black raspberry, cracked pepper and mocha, with plush and layered flavors of wild berry, fresh sage and licorice.  Ripe tannins sneak in on the finish.

The Katlav Winery and its vineyards are located in the Judean Hills village of Nes Harim, Southwest of Jerusalem at an elevation of 2,287 feet.  The wines from Katlav are full bodied, characterized by intense dark color, pronounced fruit, fragrant bouquets, and balanced acidity. Ages 18 months in French Oak Barrels.

This is Iron Horse's Blanc de Noirs, made from predominately Pinot Noir. It has a beautiful, pale-peach hue. Rich and creamy, like pure strawberries and cream, this is without doubt the most romantic of Sparklings. It is dangerously easy to drink. A favorite for many, Iron Horse is probably best known for this cuvée.

Vibrant crimson with purple hues, the Yalumba Y Series Shiraz Viognier, has a nose that is very expressive of its grape origins showcasing aromas of violets, blueberries and Turkish delight, with hints of ground spices.  Medium bodied with lots of red berry fruits, the supple tannins and generous fruit flavours are typical of this contemporary red wine blend.
