This delectably accessible Argentine Cab boasts a rich nose of smoky oak, bright cherry, hickory toast, and wild spices. The palate bears forth sweet red and black fruits with soft, gliding acidity and delicate tannins, with some notes of dark chocolate on the finish. A fine pairing with barbecue, red meats, or a hearty stew.

Composed of 97% Cabernet Sauvignon and 3% Petit Verdot, this is a rich wine, its juice carefully selected from some of California’s best vineyards. Hedonistically dark, with fantastic notes of candied plum, black cherry, and mountain berries on the nose, with hints of earth and spice. On the palate, this is an exuberant, pure Cabernet, with flavors of wild berry, plum, and molten cassis. Chewy tannins and good structure in the mouth, and a disarmingly long finish. A superb California value!

Sherwin Family Vineyards hired Phil Steinschriber, winemaker at Diamond Creek Vineyards, to help with winemaking. Diamond Creek's Cabernets are tight and tannic, too, so having someone with experience should aid the Sherwins in their battle with the Spring Mountain tannins. The flavors are rich and pure, built around ripe plum, currant and cherry, with a dash of earth, spice and floral character. Firmly tannic. A highly successful mountain-grown wine that manages to smooth out the rugged tannins and provide a supple, polished texture.

Ruby-red.  Jammy red and dark berries on the nose, with gentle spiciness building in the glass.  Creamy and sweet, with vivid raspberry and blueberry flavors, zero tannins and good snap to the finish.  This is a pretty amazing bargain and extremely easy to drink.
