winemaker's notes:
The 2006 vintage represents the 79th year in which Cousiño-Macul has produced an Antiguas Reservas, the winery's signature wine. Since the debut in 1927, Antiguas Reservas has always been a limited selection of the very best Cabernet Sauvignon from the Cousiño-Macul estate vineyards. Over the years, Cousiño-Macul has maintained its classic style with this 100% Cabernet Sauvignon by combining New World ripeness with Old World elegance, finesse, and a framework to age long and well.
This wine is full of dark berry fruit aromas that give way to flavors of blackberry, blueberry and tobacco in the mouth. This is rich with a lingering finish full ripe fruit flavors. It can be enjoyed now or kept for additional taste for a decade at least.

The deeply colored 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon Antiguas Reserva offers toast, spice box, cedar, and black currant scents. This is followed by a spicy, ripe, firm wine with layers of flavor. With very good depth and a long finish, this superb value should evolve for several more years but is hard to resist now. Kudos to Cousino-Macul for this significant upgrade to their portfolio.

Intense ruby red colour with light garnet hues. Vibrant aromas of citrus marmalade, dried fruit and sultanas. Full-bodied, solidly structured lingering palate with a pleasantly tannic finish. Hints of liquorice in the aftertaste.
Wine Advocate The 2003 Chianti Classico Marchesi Antinori presents a dark, almost saturated color. It is a bigger, fatter wine packed with super-ripe, jammy plum, raisin and licorice flavors on a structured frame of notable power as well as length, although it is not especially finessed. Anticipated maturity: 2007-2018. Score: 89. —Antonio Galloni, June 2007.

Santa Cristina was originally introduced in 1946 as a Chianti Classico by Piero Antinori's father, Niccolo. However, with the passage of the 1984 DOCG laws - spearheaded by Piero Antinori - requiring lower vineyard yields, Chianti Classico grapes became so complex and rich that they required more aging than this fruity fresh wine should have to maintain its style and character. Therefore, with the 1987 vintage, Santa Cristina moved away from the Chianti Classico designation, and with the 1994 vintage Antinori began including 10% Merlot to the blend to add soft, open fruit nuances to the wine. Santa Cristina is ruby red in color with purple hues. Intense fresh fruit aromas with pleasant floral hints. Well-structured, soft and harmonious. Sweet tannin and lingering fruit in the finish.

good flavour concentration. With attractive aromas of berries and mint along with creamy.

The colour is bright straw with lime green hues. The fresh nose is with lifted aromas of dried pear and ripe peach accompanied by hints of cashews and integrated French oak. These flavours combine into a finely balanced bouquet; the result of very low yielding vines matched with subtle winemaking to preserve the richness of the fruit. The palate displays the mouth filling and intense flavours of dried pears with the middle palate showing richness from both the fruit and the lees stirring. The length is long and full flavoured with a lingering fresh citrus finish. The new French oak complements the fruit providing a wonderful balance of warm toasty flavours on the finish.

Stag's Leap approaches their Napa Valley collection of wines the same way they do their limited production gems. The foundation for this blend comes from Arcadia Vineyard, though the wine's elegant perfume is distinctly Fay Vineyard and a small addition of S.L.V. fruit adds complexity and concentration. The "Artemis" is velvety and generous, with aromas of cassis and caramel with notes of black olive, black pepper and truffles. On the palate, classic claret flavors of cassis and black cherry are lifted by notes of violets and vanilla. Try this on a cold winter's night with a hearty stew worthy of this wine's namesake, Artemis, the Greek goddess of the hunt.

Argentina's signature white grape, Torrontes produces an aromatic wine with notes of citrus and flowers. On the palate, the wine is smooth and ripe.
