A fantastic nose of spice, wood toast, brioche, white flower, honeysuckle and citrus hints lead to rich, full, big and sappy flavors that really coat the mouth on the broad and palate staining finish. This is a big Bienvenues and while perhaps not as graceful as the 2000 or 2002, this is certainly stylish and deep. Like many of the wines in the range, it is also relatively forward by the usual standards of this wine yet it will certainly reward mid-term cellaring.

Very lovely nose! Complex, rich yet elegant. Ripe fruit, nuts, summer flowers. A bit stony.Very rich, lots of intensity, lots of freshness as well. Full bodied, with lots of depth.  Almost creamy mouth-feel, but at the same time it's very fresh and youthful. 

Color: Deep crimson red with vibrant purple hues.

Bouquet: Distinctive ripe blackcurrant, plum and capsicum aromas supported by a subtle savoury and spicy oak background.

Palate: Medium to full bodied in style with ripe blackcurrant and plum Cabernet flavours combined with delicate chocolate /smoky oak. Grape and oak tannins are harmonised to provide a lingering, but soft, structured finish.

Food Matches: A medium to full bodied wine to be savoured now with a variety of red meat or pasta dishes, or cellared to allow further development.

Bouquet: The nose displays rich plum, blackberry and spicy fruit aromas complexed by subtle vanillin oak.

Palate: A rich, full bodied wine showing powerful berry fruit flavours; plums, dark cherries with slight lifted spice characters are evident. It is soft on the mid palate, with fine tannins and with a generous balance of integrated oak, all of which contribute to a finish of good persistence.

Food Matches: Bin 555 will reward medium term cellaring and complement most red meats, game and cheeses.

Palate: A very elegantly balanced wine with appealing soft lime and grapefruit notes which are supported with refreshing tropical fruits, and entwined with a soft but crisp acidity on the finish. Freshness, fruit depth and vitality are the keynotes of this distinctive Wyndham Estate style. It is ideally consumed young when the vibrant intensity of flavour is at its best.

Individual vineyard parcels of fruit have been selected from premium Merlot regions for the Bin 999 Merlot. This wine displays flavoursome berry and cherry fruit on the palate, enhanced by soft grape and oak tannins that give balance, length and structure to the wine.

It is great wine, with sweetness and balancing acidity and fruit. Soft and juicy it is ready to drink, but there are structure and flavors of dried raisins to give it some aging potential.

From its very first vintage in 1973 the philosophy behind Black Label has always been brilliantly simple. It would always be the finest wine the winery could produce. It would always be dominated by the noble cabernet sauvignon and would always be sourced from the best vineyards in South Australia. There was never a strict adherence to a particular vineyard or varietal blend - the year and the vineyards would dictate the wine's final composition. Over the years the Black Label has relied upon the Clare Valley, McLaren Vale, Langhorne Creek and of course the Barossa Valley for its fruit. The best parcels of grapes are kept separate throughout the winemaking and maturation process and it is when the final components are considered "finished" that the master blender's art is put to its ultimate test. The Black Label is traditionally released four years after vintage so the wine has had appropriate bottle maturation before being presented to the wine lovers of the world.

Afordability from the Champagne region comes from chardonnay grapes brought into the winery.  Still this bubbly has the subtlety of its finer cousins but is a little more refreshing at just $9.99 a bottle..

This is almost silky in texture, with honey, almond and citrus peel flavors and a crisp, mineral finish. Has great balance and freshness, making it ideal as an aperitif. Drink now through 2016.
